Introduction: The bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) seems to be involved in the expression
of anxiety-like responses as contextual fear conditioning. Among the numerous neural
inputs to the BNST, noradrenergic synaptic terminals are prominent and some evidence
suggests an activation of this BNST neurotransmission during aversive situations.
