β-Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (β-NAD): A novel bronchodilator

      Rationale: β-Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (β-NAD) has been reported as a sympathetic neurotransmitter relaxing vascular and intestinal smooth muscle via purinergic P2Y1 and P2Y11 receptors (Mutafova-Yambolieva et al., PNAS 104(41):16359-64, 2007). We here tested for its ability to relax airway smooth muscle.
